At the age of 32 I was active and adventurous, I had a love for life and loved nothing more than being outside. My life changed dramatically when one morning I woke up with a weakness and mobility reduction in my lower limbs. Later I was diagnosed with a condition called CRPS (complex radial pain syndrome) a strange neurological condition that has basically been caused by a damaged signal path from my brain to my legs and visa versa. No one really knows why this happened to me and the brain and nervous system is extremely complex so maybe in years to come they may find a break through. For now all I can do is simply live the best I can and manage the pain through medication and treatments such as massage and neurophysiothearopy.
So the big question is, why do I blog? Why do I share my life and thoughts with others? What is the purpose of taking what I have experienced public? The answers are easy, knowledge is key. When I became disabled I was basically on my own, I had no support from government organisations and had to learn and adapt on my own.
Financially I have struggled but still needed to find the cash to do what needed to be done. I have been lucky to have found a guide along the way with my close friend Owain.
So I realised that information is available but really hard to find. I wanted to share my my experience with the hope to be able to connect with others. I soon found that I was encouraging others to try new things and realised that what I am doing is having an impact.
I have dragged my friends on my wild challenges and my poor wife has never failed to be right by my side and I have shared these experiences with you my readers and for as long as my blog is read I will keep doing what I do and blogging what I love.
I really do want to thank everyone for supporting me and encouraging me. I hope I can do you all justice long into the future. And remember you are the holder of the key to you destiny….
Thank you for reading
