My Achievements.

My Achievements.

I Became ill in January 2014 and mobility became harder and harder. Depression had taken its toll and I was slowly losing the battle, by March that year I was a full time wheelchair user. I was lost and struggling to find a path amongst the ashes of what was left of my former life.

I was introduced to wheelchair basket ball and by end of March 2014 I was part of the training team for Cardiff Celts, in May that year I played my first game with the team against Gloucester, and signed for the season.

From my time at Basketball I met some great people and was asked if  I wanted to try out for selection for Wales to play wheelchair rugby, I made it in the team and in August I was in the line up wearing the Welsh rugby shirt playing in the home nations.

In May 2015 I became part of the South Wales disabled cycling team and completed the Carten100, 100 miles cycle ride in a handcycle from Cardiff to Tenby. I achieved this in 13 hours.

June 2015 I became the first wheelchair user to attempt the WAAT4 challenge, 30k over the top of Pen Y Fan and a selected route across the Brecon Beacons. I made it 19k out of the 30k challenge until my wheelchair no longer functioned but I was awarded the special achievement award for the efforts of myself and the team.

February 2016 I completed my first parachute jump as a disabled man and took to sky to jump from 15000 feet. One of my greatest experiences and I felt so proud to have achieved it.

June 2016 I had come a long way in my development and took to the hills to try and beat the WAAT4. This year with adapted off road crutches, a back brace and a set of callipers I completed the full 30k challenge and was presented with the outstanding team achievement award.

August 2016 I was very proud and honoured to receive the Against all the odds Award in the brave Britain  award ceremony sponsored by Amplifon I was also in the final 4 for the Brave Britain award.
