Our aim is to produce Quality Welsh Wines. We are very passionate about what we do here at White Castle Vineyard and are always striving to be as good as we possibly can be. We feel very privileged to have a vineyard here in Abergavenny. White Castle Vineyard is a Welsh vineyard situated near the market towns of Abergavenny and Monmouth it is owned and run by Robb and Nicola Merchant.

Welsh Vineyard Tour
Our Tour is a wonderful opportunity to experience first hand an award winning Welsh Vineyard. Uniquely, our tours are led by Robb or Nicola the owners of White Castle vineyard, giving you the opportunity to meet the passionate pair who tends the vines. Lasting approx. 1hr 30 minutes our conducted vineyard tour talks of early beginnings to the present day we share our experiences and story of how we planted a vineyard and how a dream became a reality. On return to the Cellar Door we taste 4 still wines just perfect for those with a love and passion for wine.
Venue for hire
A 16th Century Barn tastefully restored. An ideal venue for hire seating 40 to 50 people in a beautiful rural location. Car Parking Kitchen facilities WC Facilities Catering by arrangement

White Castle Vineyard is renowned for its Welsh quality award winning red and white wines. We also produce a rose still wine and a rose sparkling wine named Esmae after our granddaughter. We have a quality award winning Welsh Sparkling wine made in the traditional méthod Champenoise. The result of four years of planning 1581 is White Castles first release limited edition Welsh fortified wine, aged in the same way as Port. This fortified Welsh wine has close links to our heritage and takes its name – 1581- from our grade II* listed Tudor barn at the foot of the vineyard.
Adopt a vine
Choose from our 5 grape varieties the vine you wish to adopt for 12 months. You will receive a personalised certificate of adoption valid for 1 year. A plaque with your chosen name shall be placed upon your adopted vine. A conducted vineyard tour for 2 persons to include a glass of wine to toast your adopted vine. You are welcome to join us at harvest to handpick the grapes from your adopted vine. A bottle of wine from your adopted grape variety to take home. A warm welcome to events taking place throughout the year at The Cellar Door.
