(This post is the final one in this series on how trauma can impact on our responses. I recommend reading the others before this one to give you the context.)
On my own journey of healing I found that Nature and animals were a great support and source of inspiration for me. They helped me to feel a sense of belonging, wonder, connection and safety that I rarely felt among people. For me, they also share profound wisdom about many aspects of our lives and, when I tune it and listen, this helps me to feel a greater sense of balance and proportion, restoring my sense of perspective and easing my anxieties.
Through this, and through my studies and searching for answers to those deep questions – you know, the ones that roll around in your mind in the dark lonely hours of the night – I found the tools and beliefs that enabled me to turn my life around, from depression and disabling anxiety to where I am now. Don’t get me wrong – I’m still very much a work in progress, but now I can laugh with myself when the overwhelming feelings bubble up again, knowing that they present another opportunity for learning and to practice the skills that I’ve learnt along the way. I also know that I can use these situations to help me release old beliefs, gain deeper self-understanding and compassion and take another step closer to living from my ‘Soul Self’.
My passion now is to share what I’ve learnt with others so that they, too, can come to a point of deep love for themselves and for Life, and to being able to work with their bodies and their inner wisdom, rather than resisting or struggling against them. It brings me such joy to see people’s faces light up as they find hope, insight or understanding where before they felt empty and exhausted.
I structure my programme around 4 simple pillars that come together to form the acronym ‘W·I·L·D’. I share more about this in the infographic in this post.

If you’d like to know more, I have a free, simple 4-step guide that you can access here.
And if you have any questions, or you’d like to have a chat about your situation and how you might be able to put some of the points above into practice in order to feel more in control in your life, then let’s grab a virtual coffee and have a chat.
In the meantime, I hope you’ve found the information here interesting and useful. Thank you for reading and feel free to share with anyone you think might find these thoughts uplifting 💙
